Beauty can be defined in different ways for every society, culture, group, etc. We all know the saying “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Though that is true, generations of cultures have set a standard to what “beauty” is. In some tribes, having very long necks is beautiful and in others it is not. It just depends on what has been passed down for centuries.

What we perceive as ‘beauty’ was a sign of healthiness and presence of good genes so evolutionarily, we seek to pass on our genes with another person who is most likely to give your offspring the best chance to survive.

because the uglies aren’t accepted by anyone.. I mean they say there is some one for every one.. so I guess and ugly can get with another ugly and make ugly babies

  5. Art says:

It’s self preservation. You consciously or unconsciously want normal kids so you find a mate that is basically normal, which is in most cases attractive. Most woman and men that are found to be attractive have symmetrical features. thus insuring offspring that are conforming to the norm.

    Its just human nature

Certain things are seen as beautiful by different cultures for different reasons.. like a lot of white people think tans are beautiful because to them it represents being able to go out and have fun in the sun
but for asians they see it as ugly to have dark skin because it means you’re poor and have to work outside all day
    those are just two examples

And some thing people naturally find beautiful like big boobs means a girl is able to have children and breastfeed them, people who are good looking a lot of times have better genes so its just nature’s way of letting people know who to breed with

    Hope this helps!

Sigmund floyd states “every things on this world are inspired by the sex.” its right of him, people think physical beauty important because it attracted the opposite sex, in order to upgrade the gene pools people searching for the opposite sex that attractive.

  10. Chances68 says:

Most of what passes for beautiful (or at least, that which is more or less universally viewed as beautiful) is simply biology. It is a series of signs of health and sexual virility / fertility which show that a particular person might make a good mate and create healthy children.
